Water Quality

Water quality is one of the biggest challenges in densely populated areas. Diffuse pollution with nutrients and pesticides in agricultural land is a continuing concern.

With our knowledge on water quality processes and our tools to assess the impact of use of chemicals in the environment, we advise industry and public authorities. We have developed WaterProtect, a water quality reporting, visualization, and planning tool.

Themes

Climate change results in increased risks for drought and water scarcity. Adaptation strategies and measures to reduce the impact are needed.

Groundwater is a valuable water resource and is increasingly put under stress due to drought and pollution.

Climate change and population growth in cities increases the risk of floodings, soil and water pollution.
